Dr. Rashed Reyadh Khazaal
Joined Mezzan in Sept 2017 and appointed as Chairman and MD in KSP in Sept 2019. Over 15 years of experience in the Gulf’s healthcare sector. Mr. Khazal hold a Doctorate of Business Administration in Action learning from University of Liverpool, an MBA in Strategy and General Management from Maastricht School of Management. Graduated from University of Portsmouth in UK with a Degree in Master of Pharmacy, MPHARM.
Ali Abdulrahman Jassim Alwazzan
Mr. Ali Al Wazzan joined KSP in 2019 as a Vice Chairman. Mr. Al Wazzan is the current Executive Director of Investments at Mezzan Holding responsible for acquisitions, disposals, the IPO program, and working with the CEO on strategic change initiatives. Mr. Ali Al Wazzan represents Mezzan Holding on various Boards and is also the Vice Chairman of Kuwait Lube Oil Company from 2010 to date.
Mr. Ali Al Wazzan took an important part in restructuring some subsidiaries including Mezzan’s water business in Qatar, led the acquisition of Unitra Mets Group and several additional important transactions for the company.
Prior to joining Mezzan, Mr. Ali Al Wazzan worked for Wedian Real Estate/Amlak Holdings (Family Investment office) and Al Watani Investment Company (NBK Capital He also previously served as a non-executive Director of Global Investment House KSCC through its restructuring process from 2010 to 2013.
Mr. Ali Al Wazzan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Finance from the American University of Beirut.
Qusay Abdulrazzaq Al-Awadhi
Mr. Qusay Al-Awadhi joined KSP in 2012 with a 13 years’ experience in asset management as a deputy general manager. He was elected to join the board of directors in 2018. He is also the chairman of National Pharmaceutical Industries Co (NPIC). Prior to joining KSP, Mr. Al-Awadhi joined NBK where he played a major role in establishing the international brokerage department under asset management. After that he joined Al-Ahlia Holding Co where he was responsible for all international investments (Marketable Securities) with a portfolio exceeding US$120 Million. Mr. Al-Awadhi holds a BA (Hons) degree in computer systems engineering from the University of Nottingham UK.
Garrett Walsh
Mr. Walsh was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Mezzan Holding Company KSC in March 2011. Since then he has worked with the Board to drive the strategic plan in the business through business wins in Afghanistan, Jordan and Iraq, the turnaround of underperforming businesses, the acquisition of Unitra Mets Group, the development of the Company’s new structures and the strengthening of the Company’s governance and cash flow focus. Mr. Walsh also managed the Northern Foods Frozen business where he introduced programs such as Lean Six Sigma and was responsible for their leading brands such as Goodfella’s Pizza, McDougalls Pies and Donegal Catch; all became No. 1 in their category during his tenure. In addition to Northern Foods, Mr. Walsh has worked for Deloitte, DCC PLC, Unigate PLC and Nestle in a variety of leadership, commercial and finance roles.
A qualified Chartered Accountant, Mr. Walsh has 24 years of experience in various industries. Prior to joining Mezzan, he was the Managing Director of Northern Foods Recipe Dish and a member of the Northern Foods PLC (UK) Ops Board. Northern Foods PLC is the UK’s largest food manufacturer and the Recipe Dish business is the largest supplier of chilled ready meals to retailers such as Marks and Spencer, and J Sainsbury.
Mr. Walsh holds a diploma in Marketing from the Marketing Institute of Ireland and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Fares Mohammad Saeed Ahmad Alhamami
Mr. Hammami is a board member in KSP since 2019. Mr. Hammami joined Mezzan Holding in September 2016 with a 13 year experience in investment banking, capital markets, and mergers and acquisitions. As a Director of Investment Banking, he served as an advisor for Mezzan Holding for several landmark transactions, including the company’s acquisition of UAE-based Unitra Mets Group in 2014, and the IPO in June 2015.
Prior to joining the company, Mr. Hammami spent the last ten years of his career as a Director of Investment Banking at NBK Capital, the investment banking arm of the National Bank of Kuwait. He has advised companies in Kuwait and the neighboring region on several investment banking, equity and debt capital market transactions exceeding US$11bn.
Mr. Hammami holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from McGill University, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has previously served as a Board Member of the CFA Institute’s Kuwait Chapter.
Dr. William Patrick Watson
William P. Watson is PhD Pharmacologist, with over two decades’ experience in small, medium, and large pharma, the last 15 years of which have been focused on Business Development and Licensing. Will has worked in patent-protected and generic drug companies, at all management levels (from lab-bench to board room) and across the whole value chain of the pharma industry, from drug discovery and research, to commercialization, and the regulatory and legal aspects of on-market products. His career has given him exposure to many international companies and markets, including the emerging markets and the Middle East. In addition to being a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, and Member of the Institute of Directors, Will is a member of various committees for professional societies and grant awarding bodies. His MBA is from the Open University Business School. Today, his consultancy companies provide strategic advice and support to smaller companies in the life sciences space, empowering both the companies and their management teams to develop and grow.
Dr. Jose Luis Velada Calzada
José Velada has over 22 years R&D experience in the pharmaceutical, medical devices and consumer healthcare industries. For the past 14 years José has headed R&D teams with a long history of successful generic and super generic developments for main territories (e.g. US, EU, CAN, BRZ) as well as emerging markets (e.g. MENA, LATAM, CIS, ASEAN). As Board Member, José has been instrumental in linking R&D vision and company objectives. José contributes to and drive the R&D direction of a company by introducing new strategic technologies, delivery platforms and sound science.
José holds a PhD in Chemistry by the Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU), Spain, and was a Research Fellow at the department of Chemistry and Applied Chemistry of the University of Salford, UK; which amounts to around 10 years R&D experience in academia.
Manoj Kumar
Manoj brings over two and a half decades of rich experience in Product Development and Regulatory Sciences. He has extensive R&D experience in different types of formulations, device development, setting up R&D units, manufacturing sites and managing large technical teams across geographies.
Dr. Manoj has held several leadership positions across organizations like Mylan, Jubliant Organosys, Dabur Research Foundation, Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals and Gulf Pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Manoj has a M Pharm from Delhi University and undergone Management Development Programme from Indian School of Business.
Mahmoud Masry
Mahmoud Masri joined KSP in 2015 with 8 years of experience in Human Resource. He joined KSP as a Human Resource Manager with previous experience in electrical manufacture company. Mr. Masri became the secretary of the board in 2018. Mr. Masri Holds a Bachelor degree in Commerce Business administrative From Egypt.
